Accra, July 2026 – Impact Investing Ghana (IIGh) proudly marks its fifth anniversary on July 23, 2026 at the La Villa Boutique Hotel and Soprano Restaurant Accra at 5pm, celebrating a journey that has positioned Ghana as a leading voice in Africa’s impact investing ecosystem.

Since its establishment in 2021, IIGh has grown into a trusted convener, catalyst, and knowledge leader, mobilising capital, strengthening institutions, and amplifying the voices shaping Africa’s impact economy..

Five Years of Ecosystem Transformation

Key outcomes across the five-year period include:

  1. Over USD 34+ million in impact-aligned capital mobilised or facilitated into priority sectors
  2. 3000+ enterprises supported through investment facilitation, deal readiness, and ecosystem services 40-44% led by women
  3. 754+ direct and indirect jobs created or sustained through supported enterprises
  4. 24+ Enterprise Support Organisations (ESOs) strengthened through the SCALE Collaborative
  5. 1,300+ individuals trained across impact measurement, pension investment, blended finance, and gender-lens investing
  6. Stakeholders reached across all 16 regions of Ghana and six countries
  7. Ghana became the first West African country to launch a Green Finance Taxonomy, with IIGh playing a catalytic convening role
  8. Design and incubation of the Ci-Gaba Fund of Funds, Ghana’s first pension-anchored blended finance vehicle. Ci-Gaba achieved its first close in March 2026, mobilizing over GH¢380 million, with a target size of GH¢1 billion (~USD 75 million).

This milestone year will also feature flagship activities including high-level webinars, beneficiary-led documentary premieres, and partner showcases that highlight IIGh’s journey and chart the path forward.

“In five years, we have moved from conviction to proof,” said Amma Lartey, Chief Executive Officer of Impact Investing Ghana. “We have mobilised capital, built platforms, strengthened institutions, and helped shift the policies that make impact investing possible at scale in Ghana. None of it alone, all of it together. This anniversary belongs to the entire ecosystem that built it with us.”

It is through this collective effort that the next chapter of Africa’s impact investing narrative is being written, guided by our vision and new ten (10) Year strategy.. This new direction emphasizes unlocking $1 billion in impact capital through Ci Gaba, a blended finance vehicle structured to mobilise domestic institutional capital with its first close recording Ghs380million in March 2026, research and evidence building, advocacy and policy and finally ecosystem capacity and pipeline to advance the growth of impact investing both in West Africa and globally.

Our work is centered on driving meaningful outcomes for four key groups: women, youth, rural and underserved populations, and people living with disabilities. By focusing on these communities, we aim to reduce underemployment and unemployment through the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that deliver sustainable jobs. We are equally committed to closing inequality gaps in critical areas such as health, education, financial services, housing, and water and sanitation. In addition, we are addressing climate resilience and promoting pathways toward zero-carbon growth.

To achieve these goals, we are concentrating on sectors with the highest potential for impact, including agriculture and agribusiness, light manufacturing, commerce, ICT, tourism, hospitality, and arts and culture. Together, these efforts reflect our unwavering dedication to shaping a future where impact investing drives inclusive growth, resilience and opportunity across Africa.

Impact Investing Ghana (IIGh) extends profound gratitude to its funders, board, members, staff, and all ecosystem actors whose diverse contributions have brought the organization to this remarkable five-year milestone. Their collective vision, resources, and commitment have been the driving force behind IIGh’s journey of innovation, collaboration, and impact. As the outgoing Board Chair, Mr. Alex Asiedu reflected: “This milestone is not just a celebration of IIGh’s achievements, but a testament to the power of collective effort. Each partner, member, and staff has played a vital role in shaping Ghana’s impact investing ecosystem, and together we have laid a strong foundation for the future.”

On 23rd July 2026, Impact Investing Ghana (IIGh) will proudly celebrate its fifth anniversary. As we mark this special occasion, we invite all partners, funders, board members, staff, and ecosystem actors to join us in commemorating the journey and shaping the future together.
