Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Support the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW) – national event, regional events and pre- and post-event activities and collaborations, including technical concept development, stakeholder engagement, and fundraising efforts to secure the event’s budget and partnerships.
- Manage the GDIW secretariat and coordinate the participation of the three event host organisations and international development and program implementation partners such as GIZ, FCDO, UNCDF, UNDP and others to contribute strategic insights to use the event as a platform to grow the innovation and digital innovation ecosystem nationally and regionally. Foster collaboration among consortium partners and team members while engaging with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives and priorities.
- Support the creation of an effective monitoring and evaluation system for the event and pre and post-event activities, including setting up systems for a collaborative plan to collect and follow up on commitments of the innovation and digital innovation ecosystem during, before and after the event.
- Lead the overall event management process, developing comprehensive project plans, overseeing logistics, managing budgets, and coordinating regional events to ensure smooth execution. Manage vendor negotiations, contract agreements, and operational requirements, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in the delivery of goods and services.
- Work closely with the marketing team to implement effective promotional strategies that target the intended audience and maximise event participation.
- Supervise on-site activities during GDIW, addressing issues proactively to deliver a positive experience for attendees, sponsors, and partners.
- Organise post-event activities, including stakeholder debriefs, publication of key takeaways, and engagement efforts to sustain momentum and community interest.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, program coordination, or a similar role with increasing responsibilities.
- Excellent understanding of the digital innovation and innovation ecosystem.
- Strong team management and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with CRM systems is desirable.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience with GDIW is highly desirable

The Ghana Digital Innovation
The Ghana Digital Innovation Week is a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of Ghana’s digital innovation ecosystem and build momentum towards a common vision for its future development. The aim is to mobilize diverse digital innovation ecosystem stakeholders towards more collaborative and inclusive ecosystem development. The Ghana Digital Innovation Week aims to bring together leaders in government, private sector and industry practitioners, national business leaders, academics and research scholars, ecosystem enablers and intermediaries, innovators, and international development partners for open discussions that optimize existing interactions between different stakeholders as well as enable stakeholders to discover and take up new roles in the digital innovation ecosystem of Ghana.
Program Officer who will be responsible for planning, and coordinating the execution of Ghana Digital and Innovation Week (GDIW), ensuring its successful delivery within specified timelines and budget constraints. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless organization of the event, from conceptualization to post-event evaluation as well as ensuring that the discussions throughout the week and the overall results lead to actionable next steps that inform the strategic direction of the country’s digital innovation ecosystem.
