The launch of the RISA Fund call for proposals and showcase of inception projects

The IIGh Team was well represented at the launch of The RISA Fund call for proposals and showcase of inception projects in Accra.

At the beginning of this year, we embarked on the implementation of our RISA project aimed to increase financing for innovation through strengthening the connections between research and industry. And we are excited to share some of our achievements;

1. We established an evidence base for action by launching our report summary on “Impact Investing In Ghana: Unlocking private sector capital for Profit and Impact” which highlights the key gaps holding the flow of funding in the ecosystem. And to increase research-industry collaboration by forming the Research-Industry Collaborative bringing together researchers from 25 academic institutions to collaborate with key industry players from the private sector, government and international development institutions which resulted in a database of over 100 research works in the fields of social finance, innovation, entrepreneurship, and product development.

2. Building a digital platform https://dealsourceafrica.co/ to drive a more efficient linkages between SMEs, Capital Providers and Capital Raise/Investment Readiness service providers to enable businesses to prepare for and assess the funding they need.

3. Bringing together leading Enterprise Support Organisations (ESO) to form the Ghana ESO Collaborative and support the building of a pipeline of investible businesses through the https://esoghana.org/ platform to increase the quality of investment readiness and enterprise support in Ghana. The platform is to serve as a national platform for sharing detailed information on programs to enable entrepreneurs to access enterprise support and enable ESOs to improve the quality of their programs.
